Hi There!
I am Her of Hawk & Her.
Hawk & Her began in December 2012. It was my way of coping with the fact that my boyfriend was getting ready to deploy for a year.
During those years, I became the wife of Hawk, a Blackhawk pilot in the Army. I never dreamed or really desired to be an Army wife, because I didn’t think I could handle the stress and worry of being separated by a deployment.
But God.
That’s really the tale of my life.
But God. God led us to each other and Hawk and I fell in love. I fell in love with him knowing he would be deploying that next year.
But God. God saw us through almost 11 months of separation and carried me through one of my “nevers” and we made it. Our relationship thrived during the months apart, despite the 5,550 miles between us.
But God. I waited for Hawk to return home and he proposed in the airport. It was one of the happiest days of my entire life. I married my Hawk and these chapters of life are about my journey as his wife.
Turning the Page
After 12 years in the Army, Hawk decided to hang up his dog tags. The page turned and a new chapter began. With that said- the Hawk and Her tagline The Chapters of a Solider and His Lady and Their Faithful God needed a little restructuring.
So who am I?
Her of Hawk & Her is simply a woman who desires to be a woman after her God’s heart. She desires to love her Jesus with all the passion inside her bones and to share with others how He is moving in her life. How He is changing her life. She writes because that is a passion and desire that God gave her. First, to teach her what she needs to learn, but also to inspire and encourage others to go deeper, go beyond “check-list” faith and experience an awareness of the power and presence of a God who has proven Himself faithful.
She has a record of His faithfulness in case she is ever tempted to forget. It’s the journal pages that find their way on this corner of the world called Hawk & Her.
I am Her.
An imperfect woman who is married to a wonderful man and former soldier named Hawk. I am Her. A new mother to a precious little baby boy named Fletcher. I am Her. A part-time marketer, a part-time stay-at-home mom, a part-time blogger. But more importantly, I am Her – a woman seeking after God’s heart.
And really, that is the song of my heart, the ink to my pen, the motivation behind every word on every page.
So welcome to the next chapter – welcome to the ink smudged pages.
